Yesterday I added a beautiful yellow leather coral (non-toadstool...I think its Sarcophyton Elegans). I have not yet seen the polyps extend. I think I recall reading somewhere that it can take a while (days?) before they will extend. Can someone verify this?
Anyhow, this morning it appears...

I am working with Chris from Atlanta Aquaria on doing a coral group buy.
He said he can get a batch of 25 assorted corals for $400 or maybe less.
I do not know exactly what 'assorted' means, but I do know that it should be medium sized colonies (not frags). It would probably be mostly, if...

Ok, I'm slowly trying to convert to a nice, SPS system. As of right now, I'm having problems keeping any SPS alive and I think my 2 main issues are high temperature (and the fluctuations) as well as the fact that I have a "mixed" tank. I know people say you shouldn't keep softies with SPS, but...
I have a yellow leather coral and I was wondering how do they reproduce? Would I have to frag a piece off from it or what? I will have to get a picture of it to show all of you. It is small right now but I am interested if it grows.
Thanks for any help,

After doing great for months, all of my Montiporas have suddenly started bleaching. I have several color varieites of M. digitata, and what was turning out to be a real nice orange-red M. capricornis. I started noticing all of them beginning to bleach yesterday, and today it has gotten worse...
For soft corals, such as mushrooms and polyps, is it best to just put some liquid food (eg, Phytoplex) into the tank, or is it better to squirt it into or near the corals with a turkey baster or syringe?
