Sorry if this has been covered before but, the Pinpoint Salinity meter measures in Ms. I did a terrible job of explaining to a fellow reefer just exactly that was as we were comparing tank parameters. I think it is a measure of conductivity and not actual salinity? Is Ms micro Siemens? Next time...
Does anyone know of a conductivity meter that can measure the conductivity of sea water to 53.0 +/- 0.1 mS/cm2. (This is a SG of 1.0260 +/- 0.0001). OK and doesn't cost more than $200.
If you know of another way to acheive this precision chime in.
title says it all. Just researching them and was wondering what was a good one for the money. The economy has me on a monthly tank budget :(http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+4690+9957&pcatid=9957
I'm really new to the hobby and have started a reef tank. I have some soft corals, sponges invertabrates and some fish. The problem is that my blue tang and powder blue tang have come down with Ich. I was told that it is possible to use Ich-X and it wouldn't hurt anything. I was wondering...

So...last night I took my water in to the LFS to get tested. I took it to one place and all the levels were good except for my salinity. It was 1.028 on their hydrometer...I was getting 1.025 at home on my hydrometer. So, I bought a new one (mine was very old). But, I decided to take it to...
