Hi,I was wondering if you could help me with a few questions.1-I have a calcium reactor and just purchased kalk reactor with top off pump.I can not seem to maintain ph It's staying at 7.7 to 8.0 I really want to get it to raise but I'm clue less at this point.I just purchased new lighting and...
As I sit and wait for my cycle, I was on liveaquaria.com perusing the beautiful fish trying to find some compatible to a reef tank and my particular taste (not the frying pan kind of taste).
Here are my top choices, what do you think?
Royal Gramma (I love how crabby this guy looks)...
Ok, so it's a month away LOL. . but i'm making plans to go up to that fish place next month, and am tyring to figure out what shall be my next fishie

Royal Gamma Basslet
Here's all the information that I can think of on my system.
Our system is currently a 135 gallon Acrylic reef tank (6'x21"x21")
15g sump with sock filtration
an in-line protein skimmer (sorry don't remember brand at the moment)
A Turbo Twist 6x 18watt UV Sterilizer
We recently purchased a Coris Wrasse (what our LFS called it anyway) about a month ago from a LFS we go to on a very regular basis. We've become friends with the manager of this LFS and have not had any problems with them selling us things that "shouldn't" be in our tank.
This fish is...
ive been hearing alot about brook and clowns lately. i lost a maroon clown a few months back due to this disease also. i only had the clown less than two weeks.
in the upcoming months i would like to buy a tank bred ocellaris clown but im paranoid about all these brook stories.
I was just wondering what everone out there that has a Royal Gramma feeds it. I am on my second one who seems to be doing fine. The last one I had hid in the rock the whole time and wouldn't come out to eat so he starved to death. This new guy seems to tear it up though. Anyway what does...
this thread is about reef fish in the hobby that we don't see everyday .
so fish like yellow tangs , blue tangs , royal grammas , manderin fish , ( you get the picture ) don't count . now if its a fish that seems readily avialible , but due to cost or the feelings that they are not durable fish...
Hey, do Royal Grammas swim funny? Mine is swimming on it's side a little. He seems healthy and happy, been in the tank a week, found a cave he's hanging out in, eating, great, just swimming oddly. Hope he's okay!
Can I get some reef-safe fish suggestions. We have to chuck our butterfly due to the fact that she's eating my new corals.
After she's gone we will have this in a 45 gallon: tomato clown, yellowtail damsel, sandsifter goby, lawn mower blenny.
I'd like something bright--maybe yellow? Not...
Interesting to read about them here,
Anyone have or have seen Royal Gammas for sale (@ LFS) these past few days? Keith are you here?
As I have noticed they are some what innexpensive, right $15-$20?
One question regarding these beauties, can they be kept in pairs of 2/3?
Are Royal Grammas supposed to eat bristleworms?
I shut down my CL at night to give the tank a chance to be calm or whatever. When I come home after work every day I fire it back up. And everytime I do like half a dozen bristleworms shoot out the CL exits. My RG flies out of his rock and...
Im planning to get a Six Line Wrasse this week. I have a Skunk Cleaner Shrimp in the tank and I was wondering if he is in any danger if I do decide to add the sixline. One more thing, do Six Lines get along with Royal Grammas? Ive heard different stories on these guys so im not sure whether...
What Fish would you recommend for a fish only system. I am in the process of ordering a refugium it will have a built in skimmer and compact flourescent lighting. But I need suggestions for fish.
