I went on vacation for a week and when I got home my biocube 29 was filled with red slime. It was awful. It covered probably 80% of my rock and substrate. I had long strands of it - probably 4 - 5 inches long that spanned from my rock to the intake. This is a relatively new tank - set up 5/7/12...

I am getting some red slime in my 28 gallon aquarium. It isn't too bad, but I don't like it of course, and I don't want any more. What is the best method for removal? I know certain hermit crabs eat it. Would a tuxedo urchin eat it? I have a UV sterilizer, does that kill cyanobacteria? And I...

I've spent the last few months battling a cyano outbreak that took over my tank (10 gallon). With the help of many other posts here I've done a number of things, but I still have some patches of it left and it stills appears to be trying to thrive. When it first started tank specs were: (3...

I recently treated my 125 with the red slime remover and I know that you are supposed to cut down on your skimmer but I can't run mine at all even at its lowest setting without flooding the cup. Has anybody ever used this and how long does the skimmer have to be off. My water is really fizzy also.
