So I have red platforms and I read flatworn eXit is a good option to kill them. But it may release toxins when they dye. So I'm curious about anyone else's experience with this product? And I've killed two that were on the glass and I very carefully searched the tank and I don't see anymore so...

clearly i do not do a lot of work during the day.. except cruise these forums and read about/mostly look at pictures of reef tanks :D i've just started my cycling process - with suposably uncured rock.. its actually about 3/4's of the way through cycling, just starting to hit with the...

So i just recently discovered that what i thought was some kind of algae forming is actually red flatworms. They aren't hurting anything in my tank but it is an eye sore. I just began siphoning them out and i was wondering if using flatworm exit is reef safe. I know that when they die they...

OK, this has been going on for a few months now. I have dosed FWE three times, the last time I more than doubled the dose. But these little buggers just won't go away. I haven't dosed in well over a month. The thing is, the population doesn't really seem to be growing.....of course I can...

Would this be better than a Wrasse Fish at ridding flatworms? or will it become a parasite too .. it says that it only reproduces if more than 1 is in the tank & offspring usually cant survive...so what do you guys/girls think ...

I wasn't able to get a picture of it. It was too small for my camera to focus on. I drew it to the best of my ability with "Paint". The shape of it is dead on. There are no legs. It kind of moves around the glass in a similar way as a snail. Any suggestions as to what this might be. I'm...

What is the best way to siphon out the detritus in a sump that is floor level?

Can anyone help here? I know the pictures are horrible, but it's so small, I can't get a pic of it. It looks like a baby Jellyfish. Brown & clear dome, with little fluorescent tentacles hanging down. My wife saw this floating by in the current. It landed on my finger leather, and suctioned...

I noticed today in the 20g I've had setup for two months or so now that there were these red flatworms against the black corner overflow. Is it usual for them to be red? Do these pose any siginifcant threat to corals and fish? I think I'll be using FWE to treat the tank. I doesn't appear to...

After trying a velvet nudibranch and not wanting to be stuck with an aggresive wrasse in my tank I finally decided to try the chemical route. I put it in at 1241 pacific time. Here's a couple pics of what it looked like a half hour ago. It now 1250. Wish me luck.

Wondering what a good fish would be to pick off red flatworms in my 35g. I've heard different opinions about 6 line wrasses and am curious if there might be a better candidate?

I don't have any clue where to start looking for what this is. It is slightly transparent. They move around my tank by inflating the area that is large and round. That area closes on itself and the creature slides forward. Repeat the process ad nauseam.

Does anyone have a good pic of what they look like on a bit of rock? I noticed a bunch of cyano coloured oval patches on my rock tonight and when I poked one of them it moved rather well. Would that be one? If so what do I do about them? I know they're supposed to be pretty bad. . .

What should I do with it? Lol, stupid question I know. But I'm being shipped a 2" frag(I mailed the ebayer to see if it is attached or not) soon. I just wonder about it. I know it needs to have good enough flow that nothing like sand or food will stay on it. And it needs to go towards the...

i have 45' worth of drain on my system. this is obviously acting like a wet/dry. i have a constant 20ppm nitrate reading. not really a problem, but is just kinda nagging me. i am not about to add a sand bed to my system to correct this. would a coil/sulpher denitrator be something to look into...

I searched through some of the posts but still cannot figure out what these are. They are on the glass (only at night) about the diamater of a pencil eraser (smaller) but totally flat. They are very uniform and hang out together in groups (how cute). They also are crawling around on the LR...

As I was doing my routine tank maintenance, I noticed theses little slug like creatures on my glass. I'm afraid that I might have flatworms. One end is rounded and the other end seams to have been cut in half producing two "little legs." They are a kind of beige color. Are they in fact...
