I'm going to try a gate-valve mod on mine this weekend and I'm wondering if anyone has modded this model yet. I have a TS150 and noticed that the PVC coming out of the bottom is somewhere in between 1-1/4" and 1-1/2".
Okay it is official, my 90 gallon build starts today. My stand came in today and I picked it up after work.
Here is the plan for the tank:
90 Gallon AGA tank w/offfset overflow
Custom Oak Stand and Canopy
40 Gallon AGA sump
6X54W Sunlight Supply Tek T5HO
Octopus Needlewheel 200 w/gate...
This thread lists the equipment I have so far:
When I got the tank, I decided to go ahead and test everything I had to make sure it worked properly. The only part of it that I couldn't truly test was the skimmer. But, with plain water it...
Has anyone here actually done a gate valve mod on an octo nw200? If so, what are the specs on the plumbing parts needed? Seems kinda excessive that you would need a 2" gate valve. Which funny enough, Im having difficulty locating any pvc gate valve at all.
Anyone know anywhere locally I can find PVC gate valves?? I can't find them anywhere, I have checked Home Depot, Lowes, and Menard's. Thanks in advance. I just got a huge new skimmer and can't hook it up!!
My girlfriend kept complaining about the toilet noise in the loungeroom so i devised a way to keep the overflow completely silent
Basically you have an extra standpipe that is lower than the normal standpipe (as shown in the diagram) you make that standpipe slightly larger than your return...
I really am not satisfied w/ my ASM G2. It is really crammed into my sump and hard to adjust, sometimes it pulls great, sometimes too much, sometimes too little. Plus I'm not sure its enough for a 118g.
I know about the mesh mod and gate valve mod. The mesh mod would help w/ it pulling, but...
I ordered a 90 gallon reef ready AGA tank today. Would've got the 75 gallon but the 90 was on sale for the same price. It should arrive in 3 days. It's official, the 90 gallon tank build has begun
I am in the research mode of my build.. I have the tank, stand/canopy, URI VHO tubes and a MH 175 watt ballast. I am trying to put together a list of things I need.. and the best prices on each item.. also would like input on whether the equipment I have in mind is going to work for my setup...
So, here's the plans.
I'm taking down the tank to do a few things. Every day the list seems to get longer and longer.
1. Replace SB
2. Install a CLS with a Dart pump
3. Replace Sump
4. Upgrade to ASM G3
5. Cook LR
6. Install FlyGuy rock lifts
7. Replace carpet
8. Paint walls
9. Any other...
Anybody have one laying around? I'm looking for a 1.25" one, needs to be gate (not ball).
I've found a local supplier that charges about 2x as much as online vendors, before I order from the online place, I thought I'd check here.
After reading all the recent posts on gate valve mods for Euro-reef skimmers, I'm going to mod mine.
Anyone know of a local hardware store that carrys PVC gate valves,
I'm looking for the 1 1/4" gate valve.
Up for trade... Carleson Surge Device, I built it and ran for a couple months on my 125. Works great! No pump included. Has 5 gal bucket w/lid, 1/2 PVC Gate valve to control flow, safety overflow, and a 1.5" discharge...
I'll trade it for just about any frag that I don't already have...:p
