My powerhead bit the dust on my 28 gallon bow front salt water tank and I was wondering what I should replace it with. My tank has mostly pulsing Xenia and some mushrooms along with a couple of clown fish. I am running a HOB Reef Octopus protein skimmer on this tank. Since the tank is...
My frogspawn and pulsing xenia grew tremendously over the last couple months. They're just touching now and theres no way i can move the frags because both corals grew around onto the rock. Any sugguestions?
I've had these two xenias for about 8 months - when I turned on the lights this morning and really looked at them in their deflated state a couple of things became obvious. I don't know how well you'll see these on your pcs, but the top stem has a tiny "stalk" (don't know what they're called) on...
I was told that these are two different kinds of Xenia, however now I'm thinking otherwise. I know the right is a Pulsing Xenia but when researching the other I didn't find any Xeniidae that really looked like this. Upon further research I'm led to believe the left is an anthelia. It may not be...
Ok so i've just literally made my first frag of pulsing xenia and was told to by my lfs to cut the xenia midway down the stalk, which is what i have done. However some sites say to cut the stalk at the base...does it matter? Also, what happens to the stalk that i have cut, does it grow back...

Any ideas why? or how to solve this. ive tested...

Finally thinned some of my pulsing Xenia out today. Decided to grab a quick Video of some of the frags and the Xenia parent "Forest" They were pulsing away before the lights go out in the evening.
Fragging went pretty well, sharp razor blade and some rubberbands and frag discs. Try to cut...
