  1. General Reef Discussion
As the title says... how do you measure pH? I am going to start dosing kalk and I am looking for a reliable, affordable way to do this. Also, do I really need to worry about this as long as I just have a slow drip to replace evaporated water?

So for the past 6 months or so I've been running my apex controller with some basic probes ph and temp. I decided to add on the salinity probe as well which also uses its own temp probe. When I added this I noticed that the two temp readings were way off. I never checked the reading on my apex...

So i just set up my apex. I bought the lab grade ph probe and got the 7 and 10 solution to calibrate. I dropped the calibration solutions in the tank for 5 or so min to get the temp right and began to calibrate. When i calibrated the 7 solution the number settled at 653 and the 10 solution...

This may be helpful to know when setting up your Apex with a pH probe and wondering why your pH is low and it won't calibrate... Don't be a dummy like me and not take the rubber cap off the tip of the probe. I'm such a dummy sometimes.

So I am about to purchase a reefkeeper and was reading up on ORP probe and have gotten opinions in what I have read. So I want to see how has them out there and do they feel about ORP probe? are they worth it? What do you gain?
  7. Reefing Equipment
I am currently using an API test kit for testing high range PH. To be blunt, it sucks . The readings never match anything on the chart. I feel like i am guessing every time I do one of these tests. I have a reefkeeper light I am using to monitor Ph, but I still do a hand test every...

I'm confused regarding the functioning of a grounding probe. I added one to my system and even thought I get zero reading using multimeter (red pole in water and black pole to ground), I'm still feeling a tingle in my finger that has a small cut. When I remove the grounding probe I still feel...
