Below is an article from advanced aquarist. I found it very interesting. Here is a link for the article also. Some of this is above my skill level but I wanted to ask what you all thought about this? http://www.advancedaquarist.com/blog/study-finds-stony-corals-eat-plastic According to the...

Do you guys consider which types of plastics you add to your system? I have a bunch of Pex tube leftover from a plumbing project, was thinking about skipping the PVC when I build my overflow. Hard to find much research, at least until they decide there's a market for BPA free, organic aquarium...

Looking to use one of these shelved on pvc footing. Do you think its reef safe? It's the stackable stand alone ones from any big box store

Ok, so I'm thinking about making a biopellet reactor using a plastic coke bottle. My problem is that when I search if this is safe, half the people say that food grade plastic is safe and the other half say no... It need a conclusive answer so I can get this thing going and I am hoping that you...

Hello - I know a lot of people use "Brute" trash cans and "Rubbermaid" containers for RODI. I have a plastic trash can that states it is made from "reprocessed postindustrial regrind." They do not state that there are any anti-mold or anti-bacterial additives... so I'm guessing it's OK...

Does anyone know where I can get some black plastic/plexiglass to make a fake back wall on my tank? I want to make a custom overflow for a 20 gal tank so I can hide everything behind the wall without using a sump. Sort of like how the JBJ cubes are built.

Hi guys. Wanted to throw this out in the general forum to see what I could get. I tested my plumbing on my new tank build last night and it works great except I have one small leak on the return line coming from the inner threading on the bulkhead where my PVC elbow twists into the bulkhead...

I'm plotting out the set up of my 55 and 125 and I'm wondering what coral types will grow on ABS and glass? I'm pretty sure zoo's and GSP will, but what about like a paly or monti if a small frag is glued to the bottom of a BB tank?

I had read some threads on here regarding using ABS plastic for an overflow. Now some people in my local reef club are telling me it'll eventually sag and fail... not good. Will ABS permanently seal to glass for use as an overflow? If not I'm out $100 bucks... Already had ABS cut to spec for a...

Found a local ABS supplier. If anyone is in need, they sell sheets of 1/4 inch ABS at 96" x 48" for $83.xx after tax and will cut to size. I'd be happy to place an order and ship. Anyway, what should be the dimensions of these? I was thinking 6 inches deep, 48" and 72" long (for my 55g and...
