My other thread was called an office reef, but because of all the changes in my life it never made it to work. Now I'm starting another build which actually will make it to my new office.
I was really loving all the fun Hack was having with Reef Jars, and everyone else who got...
No, those are not the names of my dogs:D but my Fluval 5 gal pico and Fluval 13.5 gal nano. The pico is cycled in after a 40 day burn in and supporting one 1" maroon clown, Fiji dry rock and coral life live sand. Next in, a small snail clean up gang and an Arrow Crab next week Invested in a...
So i am in the process of setting up a 4 gallon pico reef and wondering what to stock it with.
I am thinking 3 sexy shrimp an emerald crab, porcelain crab and then fill it with lps and soft corals. Also if i were to put a fish in it would eb a goby maybe a green coral goby, however...
I was just curious about whether you preferred black or white sand. I'm going for a clean, petite, minimalist look so I'm using a pico aquarium, but can't decide on what sand to use. Which looks better under blue lights (no option for just whites)? Which looks cleaner? Do you...
Hello fellow reefers, past reefers and future reefers alike, I have a simple question(s) for you.
Would 6 watts be enough for a 2.5 gallon aquarium with no SPS (mostly if not only zoas, mushrooms and softies)?
And has anybody had experience with this light and/or know if it is possible to...
I have a 4 gallon pico, with mainly SPS corals and am looking to achieve Ultra-low nutrients for so my zeovit additives can work more effectively. (before someone says something, yes... they work. I stopped dosing my zeo for 2 weeks but left all other husbandry the same and SPS lost...
I cannot keep ANY shrimp alive for over three days!
All my parameters (Nitrate, ammonia, nitrite, phosphate, calcium, salinity, temperature) are great and all my corals are fine!
I have tried (two months apart) a coral banded shrimp, Fire Shrimp, and two peppermint shrimp, only to have...
I was reading up on everything clam here on TRT, and was wondering if you think my tank is mature enough to get one!
A few details:
Tank: Nanocube 29 with 10g custom sump
Lighting: Ocean Revive T206 (LED)
Filteration: Live Rock, Rear Media Rack, bioballs in sump, fine filter...
So I have a bunch of assorted mushrooms in my tank, and have noticed that some have actually grown OVER other types.
Like the generic purple with neon green, red, etc.
I am not seeing any retraction or signs of a fight , but do you think thats okay?
Is this a Pipe Organ Coral?
If so, what type specifically?
I have so much of it that I am giving it away for free in South Miami!
(On frag plugs, pretty large. Probably about 20-30 pipes on each, growing OVER plugs!)
After struggling quite a bit, I have still not found a frag rack that I like.
I have been fragging corals such as Green Melon Mushrooms, Neon Green Leathers, assorted color birds nests, and candy cane corals, but do not have enough space on my DIY egg crate rack. :(
my tank is...
Hi Everyone. I took pictures during my entire nanocube build, but haven't made a build thread yet.
The tank is now about two months old, so I figured its time to show off! :blob:
JBJ Nanocube (28 gallon)
Radion XR30w PRO
2x Mj 1200 Powerheads
JBJ Wave maker...
Given all of the information found on this thread, I have come up with my solution.
I will be having a Small Red Sea Maxx Reefer series with a two Radion Pros as my coral quarantine tank, and a red sea max (Slightly larger) 450 (l) as my fish quarantine. This way, I can keep them running...
Recently I shut down my 55 gallon reef tank due to the fact that I am on a college budget and living at my parent house (will save large tanks for when I have my own permanent home). Currently I have an Innovative Marine Pico 4 tank and would like to know the possibility of growing SPS...
I just got done setting uptown new 75 FOWLER and my 21 reef is filling up quick so I thinking of a new tank already. I'm really interested in pico reef and I'm up for the challenge, but having just set up a 75 gallon tank I am a little short on money wanting the whole setup under 200 dollars...
