I have a Gen-X CO2 regulator by pacific coast imports. It has a solenoid and a needle from MRC http://www.myreefcreations.com/caaccessories.htm at the bottom of the page. Currently the regulator is putting out an output pressure of 25. That is just a touch higher than I want. There isn't any big...
It is finally time that I get my calcium reactor set up. Only thing is, I have never owned or operated a calcium reactor before, so I need help. Can anyone take some time and help walk me through how to set it up and get it properly set?
also, I have a milwaukee pH controller...
I have been trying for a while to raise my ph. It is constantly at 7.8. I've tried adding buffer. Seems to help short term. added an air pump to help
balance co2 and oxygen. Removed half of my glass lid and replace with egg crate. nothing seems to help. here are some tank specs.
I'm having issues with my pH--no matter what I do it won't raise. At one point it was around 7.8-7.9 in the morning and slowly rose over the couse of the day to about 8.2 max.
Now, it's about 7.6 in the a.m., and rarely goes above 8.0 at night.
We're using the buffer and nothing is...
so the corals don't seem as happy as they could be so I figured time to test...
sg 1.025 with refractometer
nitrate - 15 ish
using IO salt
so what if anything do I need to do?
OK.... when I started my tank back in 03 I had a colt coral in there for over a year as well as a ton of polyps. All flurished! then all of a sudden everything started to die. water parameters are fine. I thought it was my tank inhabitants picking at them.... I was wrong. I then thought...
About 2 months ago I bought a pinpoint ph kit. It uses the 10/7 solutions for calibration.
It worked great for the first month or so then just started giving me really low readings! I have calibrated it twice with new solutions but I get the same results. I'm using two different standard...
I bought a pinpoint PH moniter used and am trying to calibrate it. I cannot seem to get the numbers to 7 or 10 while calibrating the unit. I have the probe in the solution and am cranking the appropriate screw to adjust the display and no matter how far I turn the screw it will not reach...
I have a pinpoint PH monitor and a pinpoint PH controller. One of my probes reads correctly when it is hooked up to either meter but one of my probes will only read between 6.5 and 7.2 PH no matter what the PH of the solution is. The one that is not reading correctly was on the controller on my...
Ok I checked my tank today and the specs are way out of wak.
Alk over 16 dkh
two days ago the cal was 350
I have been adding kent super buffer to bring up the ph.
I also add Kent parts A/B as per directions... until today I began to add more calcium...
i am having proublem keeping my ph up.
ph goes from 7.56-7.88
i cant seem to get it anyhigher?
i use 2 differnt liquid tests
i also read my AC2 controler.
155 bow 100 galon sump.
125 lbs fiji
300 base rock
weekly 10% water cahnges
Recommended fluids for my probe are in disposable sachets and cost a fortune, surely i can cap n tube the liquid and re use? Or am i just being too tight :agree:
Will the Ph change if stored in screwcap plastic clear test tubes?
I'll log results how long it does last but just wondering if...
OK WTH!!! I mess with my alkalinity, and my calcium drops. I mess with my calcium and my alkalinity drops. Now both powder additives arent supposed to mess with the other. Here is the weird thing though. If I dont touch my tank, my calcium stays steady at around 440 and my alk at around 2.60. I...
Hi everyone! Attention chemistry experts:
I cannot keep my calcium level up and pH down. I've read that maybe these are needed (either a Ca reactor or kalkawasser drip). I don't have either and have been adding Ca and pH buffer manually. Does anyone here think that either of these are...
I just got a brand new Pin Point PH monitor and a brand new pin point PH controller both with brand new probes. I calibrated them both with the same solutions untill they were both reading 7.01 in the 7 calibration solution. The solution was at 68 degrees and this was the indicated target...
Something doesn't seem right. I got an initial ammonia reading when I put the first LR in. I added LR yesterday morning and there's no change. I know the LR is cured but shouldn't I be seeing something more? Also look at todays KH test. OFF THE WALL!! Any idea why? I left the MH's on for 7 hours...
I cant seen to raise the PH and ALK in my reef tank <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
I am adding SEACHEM PH UP to raise the oh and I cant get it to go up.
Any thoughts ?
