I've got a pretty new tank sitting on my desk at work, with a cleaner shrimp, pistol shrimp and a yasha goby. Also 2 small clowns and cuc. I left them in great shape on Friday, and came back to work Tuesday. Everything looked good, except my pistol shrimp and yasha goby seemed to be missing...

Hi all - when I first bought the CUC for our tank, I got an itsy bitsy scarlet hermit crab. And man-oh-man, has that thing grown. I have now learned that not only does a hermit crab switch shells, but apparently they also molt (not something I ever gave much thought to before, but obviously...

I am new to the salt water aquarium hobby and am loving it. I came home this morning and noticed that my sally lightfoot crab had molted. The exoskeleton shell is still in the tank attached to some of the rock.... should it be removed or left alone? Any advice would be great. Thanks.

So, I have two electric blue hermit crabs (one large and one small), and four regular black hermit crabs (all the same size). A couple days ago, I noticed a large hermit crab claw that could only be from the large electric blue sitting on the sand about 4 inches from where he was sitting. I...

This morning my tiger and pistol shrimp pair were doing great. They came out together, the shrimp looked normal and was tidying up the place from there sleep that night. However, he went inside his cave around mid day, and hasnt come out since. And now my YWG won't go to sleep or enter his cave...

I came home yesterday and my 3" blue crab was upside down with its legs twitching. It's claws had fallen off. I figured it was dying. Due to a salinity change to a brackish water tank to incorporate some mullet I had caught. A few hours later I reached in to remove him and he freaked out kicking...

So my banded coral shrimp molted, as evidenced by the husk left at the bottom of my tank. I go to feed tonight and something is a little off. It likes to get all up on my hand with the frozen shrimp and pick away stuffing its face. So its doing its thing and it takes me a minute to realize that...

Last night my cleaner was quiet, even through dinner, so I thought he was molting. This morning he is still in the same place and not moving. He looks normal except for the whole not moving thing. Crap, I just realized both firefish are MIA. I did a 5 gal water change last night. Before the...

I have a 30gal FOWLR, set up in June, critters added in late July. My cleaner shrimp, added in early august, has molted about every two weeks, if not more often, since I got him. Is this ok/normal? I have a peppermint shrimp as well, who molts but not as often. Perhaps once a month, if I had...
