I have a bunch of little stars in my tank. I think they are some type of brittle. I just noticed them today the arms are ridged. I think they must have hitchiked or something. Are all these good or bad? There must be 1,000 of them. I can get pics later, but the biggest one is only a half inch.
Just got my Mushroom Nano pack from the good Drs.
Could someone id, please?
I have micro-stars, sandbed clams and various small hermits so I'd like to know before I release him.
I have a pretty good sized brittle star in my 29G and he has gone on a feather duster eating rampage:angry: ...he got ahold of 1 that had come out of his tube last week and it took him a day to eat it. (I had 4 good size feather dusters) I wasnt happy about it but I was okay with it at first...
i'm looking to add some more crittes to my clean up crew, and i was thinking to add a few mini brittle stars, you know, the kind that stays small (like 1" or so) not baby brittle statrs that grow up to be fish killers ;)
can someone point me to an online vendor that sells these ?
besides lighting (I'm brainstorming/researching on that one already), what essentials am I missing? This is a 50 tall FOWLR tank, right now just hangin' out with damsels and hitchhikers(more on that later), not sure what all will come... So far I've got
Magnum 350 (should I avoid the carbon...
:jump3:What a great time!!! I had about a dozen people and we had a LOT of trading and buying going on. :biggrinbounce:
I ended up with three new zoos, a blasto, a frogspawn, a hammer and a kenya tree. Oh, and we can't forget my new baby maroon clown!!! :ac11: :ac15:
I will OF COURSE post...
I lost a squamosa clam for no apparent reason  I see several mini stars on the shell of my big clam and I am wondering if they are known predators or what?? I have been losing clams over the past several months and I thought it was from bristleworms when they were dieing in my seahorse...
I just bought some purple mushrooms, on the rock between them there are these little tenticle like legs waving around, they are white with black stripes. i cannot find a pic of these anywhere. help would be greatly appreciated.
Ok Guys, here is my "problem". I have several star fish (5) in my reef tank I love them, but every time I look at it I see a new Little Britle Star. How do they breed and will they stop? I guess one in there gets "pregnant" just "hanging out" with the others. Any ideas?
I am looking for some Asterina Stars to seed my tank with. These are the little starfish that are small and reproduce very quickly.
I am also looking for some micro brittle stars.
Can anyone help?
I will be at the meeting tomorrow.
Last night we watched a six legged mini brittle star stand up on all legs lifted a couple as if to catch a current then it shook loose red particles from around it's disc, does anyone know what it was doing? Is it reproducing?
Ahhhh, the wonders of the deep right in my own living room!!!!
