I bought this fish sold to me as a mimic tang (1st link below). After 2-3 months it changed to this fish (2nd link), and doesn't really look anything like a mimic tang. Did I get scammed for my fish?
My main concern is that my rock is just stacked up on each other there isn't any epoxy or anything holding them together and I can just picture this fish picking off some algae off a rock or something and tearing it all down, what do ya guys think about that? Also if anybody has had one how do...

:help: have a 90 gallon tank that has a rbta anemone and 2 black perculas a marine betta and a flame hawk. I feel like something is missing im looking to get a new tang to liven it up a bit and have a little more movement I know this species in and out but havent been able to decide on one. I...
Starting this thread a little late. Tank has been up for more than a few weeks. I'm trying to go slow and plan out every detail so I don't have to change everything around multiple times. Here is a list of the basics installed so far:
All Glass 150g R/R
Aquawood 36" Stand and 15" Canopy
So I want to turn this 30-gallon tall into a specialty tank showing off a fish and a mimic of that fish. Do people have ideas? I need to stay tropical, as there is a tropical grasflats refugium plumbed to the tank that I want to keep.
Not my system, I'm posting this for a friend.
90 gallon reef ready glass tank with rear corner overflow
Stand and Canopy (the canopy is 11" tall, so one could mount MH in it)
Icecap 660 with 4x48" vho
Iwaki 4-MDQX-SC return pump
Acrylic sump (estimate around 30gal)
I lost most of my clean up crew in the plastic tub basement reef.
Astreas, turbo, nassarious, cucumbers, and fire shrimp perished.
I have a few limpets and one turbo snail left I think.
What do you experienced BB reefers think I should buy for reef janitors?
Alright, so I'm itching for one or two fish for my tank (150 gallon, click the signature link for details). I've got a pretty decent fish load right now, but I feel I've got room for a larger fish. All but 2 of my fish are under 2" right now, and they shouldnt get too much larger. Current...
As some of you know (from a earlier post) My YT got stuck to a PH last week. He had been dooing well and eating for the last few days but I noticed he did not eat his dinner last night. So today I threw evrything but the kitchen sink in there. Nori, Misys, ground silver sides, ground krill...
I would like to have a tang in my tank. What one would you recommend if i am able to have one in mine.
i know people recommend a min of a 6 foot tank. but some of the articles i have read on tangs a few of the tangs state a min of 75 which is a 4 foot tank.
Well, i know how it goes so here's a few pictures of one of my tanks, the 75 gallon. Oh, and here is some info on the system as well. Hope you like...
The Set Up
75 Gallon (not drilled, Grrrr...)
2 CPR CS50s with Aqua Lifters
250watt AquaMedic 14K HQIs with 2 54watt T5 Actinics
Now while in selecting of which Anthias species I feel better for either 180 or 240 due to the fish maximum growth. And while listing these I began thinking that I will forget on the idea of either a dwarf or middle size growing angelfish due to tank space and also that most any angel I can...
I am pretty new here so here is my official TheReefTank thread
I started my first reef tank in August 2006. Originally I wanted to start a planted fresh water Amazon tank. My plan was to be able to have a freshwater ray. However, I had a friend that was into reefs...
So I'm looking for some innovative solutions to a pretty frustrating yet petty problem. I've got a 150 gallon barebottom tank, and I find that there is too much particulate that floats through the water column. It does not all seem to make it over into the sump. It's not terrible, but something...
