Unfortunately, the guy who was helping me didn't know too much and he said the guy who knows more wouldn't be in for quite a while so I've come here...

Why, or why not? Do you now, or have you ever used it? What are, or were the consequences? Are you aware of any scientific evidence to back up your answer? Thanks!

Here are a number of rocks that I used for years on my freshwater setup. I got them from a freshwater/saltwater store. I believe the 1st one is lace rock, but I'm not sure what the others are. All of them are far from smooth and I believe would do a good job, but I want to ensure they don't...

Be honest here. How long does it take for dried (dead) rock take to become live to be able to support fish and corals? Say you had 50lbs of dead rock and added 1 5lb piece of live rock. 6 months? Also to do this safely with NO algae nightmares? Do you have to cook the dead rock?

One more option. If I got a 75G tank and stand. I can use a wetdry (new bioballs) that I have in the garage. I can buy the NO light for $80. If I found a skimmer for $300 I can set this up. What do I need for the fish? I will not have LR so I need some structure for them. Ideas? This...

Well, the only place in town that sells completely dead base rock that would be aquarium appropriate(dunno what is wrong with the stuff from the other store in town, but it hasn't gotten ANY coraline on it, or much living in it.
