Need help with identifying this anemone. The reefer that I got it from said that it's a bubble tip anemone. Not really quite sure if it is since I can't see a pic from the net that looks like it.
My questions, in a nutshell, are:
Do Gorilla crabs eat LPS coral polyps, notably Torch coral?
If not, what pest crabs do that can also hitchhike on live rock?
What is the best way to catch a (Gorilla?) crab? Or is it easier to, say, harpoon it with a sharp instrument?
I recently purchased some live rock one piece has several corals on it.
I would like to know what they are what their requirements are.
I a Fairly sure the top one is an Open Brain Coral.
But I don't know if the two below (to the left and right) are closed brains or
I established my tank about 5 months ago. I think the organisms that are all over my tank are copepods, but I want to make certain before I assume.
Here's a microscope view of the organisms. Any thoughts?

Hi. I'm new to TRT but have been in the hobby now for about 8 years. My tank is a 180 gallon reef. Over the past week or so I've noticed these patches appear on my purple tang. The fish does not seem bothered and is eating and swimming normally. All other fish in the system 'appear' clean...
I just found a flat looking worm that is blackish with white spots. I managed to catch it with a turkey baster which is where I'm keeping it right now. I was wondering if anyone knows what this little guy is and if he is good or bad for my reef tank. I recently just acquired some macro algae...
I was hoping someone would be able to help me identify some things in my tank.
The small red coral next to the pulsating xenia opens with small white star polyps.
This one looks like a type of algae. It is slowly growing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
While I was dipping my rocks in soda water, (to get rid of pistol shrimps and crabs) I saw this guy come out after I put he rocks back in saltwater, I didn't know if he was harmful or not and I didn't take the risk but could someone id this worm? I'm quite curious.
Just added a frag to my tank (a gift from someone breaking down their tank) and a few pounds of live rock with some finger-like coral on it. I have done my fair share of googling and I have no idea what these are. Would love some help with the names of these corals.....I want to...
Can those of you smarter and more knowlegable than me which is 99.9% of you please check out this mushroom and help me identify it so i can try and obtain one. It has very large polyps that are very similar to a bubble anemoe. Thanks in advance for looking and trying to help!!!!
there are these two organisms that hitched on my live rock. I'm not able to figure out what they are.
This one looks like an anemone, its tiny about 2cms long with tentacles that are not more than a few milimeters long
These two tubes always expand and retract together and a translucent arm...
This little guy popped up overnight and I am wondering if this is a soft coral or a anemone and is it safe for a reef tank? To the eye it is a orange semi translucent ball with tenticals the same color with small balls on the end that seem to be a bluish color. Right now its the...
