Hi there everyone! It has been awhile since I have been here, good to see some of the familiar faces are still here :) I was searching on the internet and the local classifieds and found this:
"I have 3 Aqualight Professional Series HQI Pendant 150 Watts. I have changed the bulbs 3 months...
I have a coralife 150watt HQI pendant that i got a great deal on so i jumped on it. I live in a apartment so i can't hang it over my tank. I was wondering if there is a way to take apart the pendant and put it in coralife PC casing. I am aware that the ballast will most likely not fit in the...
For anyone that has 250W Pendants ...
How warm do your HQI pendants get after operating for a little while?
I just bought some. They are vented and are fine but get pretty toasty. Once warmed up, I wouldn't want to keep my hand on them for too long.
Here is my Current USA 34gal Solana Rimless tank. I started the tank on 1/30/08 and most of the livestock is from my Nano-Cube 6 gallon and my Bio-Cube 14 gallon:
-150W MH HQI Pendant
-Protein Skimmer(came with it... actually seems to be working well)
-One Koralia #1 and one Koralia...
Just trying to consolidate all the threads where this is being talked about. Please chime in if you are going. We are also going to stop at preuss pets that is very close to the frag swap I believe.
Here is the link to the frag swap in Lansing...
New pics of my new tank set-up 1/30/08:
-34g Solana Rimless Cube 20" x 20" x 20"

A few winters ago my Minibow 7 got wiped out with a 48 hour power outage ice storm
But last weekend I decided it was time to start it up again (since I had most of the equipment already). So I did.
Basic setup to include:
AquaClear 300 w/ surface skimmer atachment
I've been looking for an all-in-one system to simplify the reef hobbby. With all the choices, I was glad to see variety, but still couldn't find a tank that I wanted to 'show' in the house. My wife has concerns with our current 29 gallon reef, that looks more like a science experiment, with...

I'm looking at setting up a 3 tank prop system to do some frags on the side.
Plan is to have 3 50g tubs (53" x 31") and a 100g sump. One tub for SPS, the other 2 for zoos, rics, and a few other softies.
I'm looking for lighting suggestions.
I was planning on going with T5's, 6 over the SPS...
IT'S FINALLY UP AND RUNNING. Thank you so much FLYGUY for doing this for me. Bill Drilled the tank for CLS and Overflow. Built my ghetto coast to coast (works awesome) delivered and set the thing up. I don't know if there's a way possible to thank him!
once again thanks alot FLYGUY!
I'm currently doing a 46 bowfront that's gonna be sps/clam dominated. I ran across a good deal on a single 250 watt hqi pendant. Should I buy another of the same and use them???? will this be too much?? They are the round pendants and easy to lower and raise to where needed. Like I said...
I was thinking about getting one of those current USA Outer Orbit Pendant MH fixtures (150 W) for my 37 gal. Anyone have one or know it they are any good? I have used Current USA fixtures in the past and liked them.
Also, do I need to have PC actinics? or is the MH alone sufficient for...
switching my 26 bowfront over to MH lighting from PC lighting I will be using a single AquaMedic OceanLight 250w HQI Pendant w/ a Hamilton 14K bulb. I will also be adding a second to the mix in the very near future. I am looking for suggestions for additional lighting (i.e. actinic, super...
