I am setting up my calcium reactor. I don't know if its just that I am tired but these instructions for my pinpoint PH controller suck. I have it calibrate. I want it to controll my CO2 solenoid. I want it to have a centerline of 6.8 with a range of +-4. 6.6-7.0 according to the MRC...

Using my own inline RO/DI water supply. If have algae means have phosphates, then how do most you pro's eliminate phosphates? Water changes to bring out algae on glass faster after each glass cleaning. Have calc reactor, skimmer, etc... What is the secret to eliminating phosphates?

I'd really appreciate anyone's help so I can try to straighten out my pH problem. Out of all the tests I usually do, pH is probably the least. I've checked it maybe 5 times in all since I initially set it up in July. I always got the 8.3 reading, so I thought that was just something to test for...

Hi, I'm having trouble keeping my Alk up. I use kalk in my top off water, ALMOST all the time. But if I miss a day or 2, my Alk goes down to about 7. My guess is I just need to use more kalk more often. But my stupid question is, What uses up the Alk?

I just ran new tests last night & I guess I need to refresh myself on upping Alk/Lowering pH. I have some stuff from Red Sea called Marine Success Buff, but don't know if it's advisable to add or not (says 20 drops for 15 gal.)? Ammonia = 0 Nitrites = 0 Nitrates = 0 KH/Alk = 6.4/2.29 Ca = 620...

I guess I just don't understand marine chemistry. I have been working at raising the pH in our 70 gallon which has LR, DSB, a coral beauty, small yellow tank and lawnmower blennie. Alk is at 1.8, I know, still low but I am raising it by adding B-ionic part one each morning. That kicks the pH...

I know I'm being cheap, but for those that dose... I recently read that pickling lime and Kalkwasser have the same essential ingredient (calcium hydroxide). Further, that pickling lime can be used in the place of Kalkwasser as a calcium supplement. The main advantage of Kalkwasser is that it...
