Hi Guys... We finally finished setting up and cycling our new 800lt tank...YEAH..!!! We had to buy a far bit of new live rock, since as how the old tank was only 160lt and this little critter made his way out of said new rock...he was sitting on my bi-coloured blennies shell, till the blenny...

Can someone help me. I have seen pics of both fire worms and bristles but many are pics of the same worm. How can you really tell the difference? I have some red worms with feathery looking legs but no obvious front or back. I think I remember someone saying fireworms have a large mouth with...

Is this a bristle worm? I haven't noticed them untill tonight. I feed the tank and sat watching my clowns eat and out of some of the rocks came these things. They are on rocks that have alot of zoa's on them and don't seem to be bothering the coral. Sorry about the dirty glass.

I saw a skinny red worm with white spines? He was making his way out of my new hammer coral and then retracted after ten seconds. He was pretty small, maybe 1"-1.5", but I couldn't see his whole body. Seeing as how he was in my hammer, I'm under the impression that he isn't only there for...

I was looking in my tank and saw a worm lurking in my hammer coral. It was red and looked to be spiney. I have heard about worms with this sort of appearance that grow to 8' and eat soft corals. What should I do, and do you think I'm right about the type of worm? I think ive heard the name fire...

Hi, i was cleaning out my tank the other day, trying to find the source of a loud clicking noise i've been getting! I was hoping to find a big pistol shrimp sitting in one of my rocks because apparantly they can make the clicking noise i've been hearing! After searching all my rock (even...

From what I've read bristle worms (although ugly and painful to the touch) are ok to have in your tank since they also are cleaners. My question is, do they have there own population control? (If there is less to "clean" some will starve and die off.) If not, is there a natural predator that is...

This little guy comes out every night after the actinic goes out.. I can watch him swim under the LED lights. He's a fast little bugger - swims all over the tank. I finally got an opportunity to photograph him when he rested on the glass for a few minutes. Any ideas on what it is? Should I...

This is definitely NOT a bristle or a fire worm. Ok, Im too ignorant to say DEFINITELY but his legs are just legs, no bristles and the thing swims around easily claiming title of the most agile thing in my tank. Im pretty sure he eats my hermit crabs right out of their shell. If these...

Thought I would start a new thread to gauge interest in this area. I know a few of you have some pretty hi-tech setups and can automatically control most areas of your system and would love to hear about them. From the "no budget - just buy it" to the "gotta keep it cheap" crowd, what are...
