I have had a decorator crab for about 3 weeks or more now. He is nocturnal and only comes out to feed around 11 pm. I have to wave clam around the tank to draw him out and he'll climb up and grab the food. The last couple nights, I haven't been able to get him to come out. I'm just dangling...

So as some of you may know I finally got my first few corals and yesterday I got some fire and ice zoanthids. My wife made me get a decorator crab, because she thought it was cool several months ago. He didn't care about any of the corals I put in the tank until I added the zoanthids. He...

Just thought I'd ask the question, but has anyone ever put anything foreign onto a decorator crab? Something not of nature, to see if it might stick? I'm only asking this question because, SOMEHOW a beer bottle cap found it's way into my fish tank in a position which I can't get it out without...

I bought a decorator crab about a month ago at Petco and I've noticed a a few things are growing on its back and legs and am wondering what they are. I am new to saltwater tanks so my knowledge on corals is not too great yet. To me it looks like some sort of a soft coral. -Kevin

as the main lights went out last night, i noticed 4 of my red zoas slowly moving under a ledge. upon closer look i noticed it was a Cyclocoeloma tuberculata. it appeared to be picking at the rock. has anyone have any experience with one in their tank, and is this crab a potential bad hitch hiker?

Hello Everyone! I'm new to this hobby as well as to NFMAS. I'm looking forward to meeting people at the next meeting, but I thought the best way to introduce myself might be to start a thread for my new tank. My tank is a 14g biocube. I've only made a couple of modifications to it so far...

OK, some more ID help please. I found these unknown worms and thought they were Bristle Worms. But the consensus from the other thread is they are not not, but probably bad none the less. Possibly Euchnids Sp.?? So any help and removal idea's would be greatly appreciated. Thank-you Joe

Hello, everyone! I'm new here and didn't see a newcomer's thread so I'll use this to introduce myself and my tank. I'm Barb, and my tank had LR put in on April 21, 2008. Ok last night all 3 of my brittle stars were just fine and ate small peice of shrimp. I did notice that one of the stars had lost part of it's leg. Today when I came home I found the same one with no legs and just his body with a couple of stubs. I thought he was dead, so when I tried to get him...

I got home from work today and saw this: I posted these images to remind people how dangerous crabs (even cute little hermit crabs) can be. If you see one of your hermits have gotten a little too large, toss him in the sump or give/trade him to the LFS. This one was quite large as you...

About a week ago I added a beautiful Long Tentacle Anemone to my 75 gallon reef tank. For the first few days it and one of my maroon clowns rolled around the tank together. Now for the last 48 hours he has been missing in action. The clown is still around but there has been no sign of the Long...
