I've got bright green algae of some fashion showing up on some rock and my sand bed. I heard if you can't scrape it off its coralline. Is that true...I presume that's good? I run my day lights from 8am to 8pm and wondered if I should reduce that or not after seeing this appear? This is LIME...

I have a fairly large sea urchin, it is a dull orange in color, I was told by my LFS to get rid of him, that he will eat all of my corraline algae, ( almost all gone ) and poops a lot. If I didn't get rid of him could I put him in my overflow box? He is so large there is no way he clogs it.

Hi all. I recently changed how my return flow comes into my tank, so now I have eliminated alot of excess 1/2" loc-line. I didn't take pics, but links are posted below. I had it connected to my 3/4" Loc-line with a 3/4" to 1/2" Y adapter and ran the circle flow assy behind my rockwork on one...

Would my livestock survive if I completely changed my sandbed and changed out all of my liverock? I'm thinking of maybe getting fully cured liverock. I get this brown haze of algae growing on the acrylic. It's pretty hard to scrub off, not your typical film that comes off easily. I have to scrub it pretty hard with an acylic pad to get it off, almost like coralline. It also will grow really long hairs out of the center of the spots that...

I have a nice 54 gallon live rock, live sand, soft corals and fish tank that's done well for about 4 years. I use the two-part ESV B-ionic calcium/alkalinity buffer once a week. Very recently, there's been a seeming growth spurt in pink and purplish corraline algae, especially on the glass...
