cheato

Does anyone have any chaeto locally that could part with some?

I am getting a little nitrate in my tank and now my cheato is growing. How often do most of you thin out your cheato? Does thinning it out more often reduce the nitrates quicker or does it matter? Thanks.

Should I acclamate it in another container and leave it there for a little to do some water testing to see what happens before I put it in my tank? Or. Should just put it right in there?
