Greetings fellow The Reef Tank-ers,
I figured that a tank profile would make good use of my first post here on TRT. This tank was started in July of 2006 and is my first "real" attempt at keeping a successful reef aquarium (well.. there was a 10 gallon before this one, but it was hardly a...

As I have said before I sanded my formerly black painted pine stand down to raw wood, remade the pine doors and stained them as well... Here's how that all turned out
My first situation...
This coral came along with my tank when I purchased the complete running setup a year ago. I thought it was possibly a Caulastrea Furcata (spelling?). (Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on ID or spelling. )
About a month ago the coral took on a growth spurt...
Ok, here's the scoop....
Had this Caulastrea Furcata since May (acquired it along with the tank). It looks like Candy Cane coral but has much larger heads.
In June, the 1 head stretched out and it got this small area at the very bottom that I thought might pinch itself off and become a...
Hi Everyone!
My friend has talked me into going fish shopping with him tomorrow and I know they have a mated pair of Clark's clown there. My question is if I do buy the pair will they try to host in my frogspawn? If they do will that hurt the frogspawn? Have any of you had experiences with...
Because I know a few people are interested, I decided not to PM Pastina, but rather started a new post.
Here is the question:
What are the issues you and others have had with Vivid Aquariums? In a post a few days ago you said you had a bad time with them, but all I and others have been able...
Jason from TRT Sponser "Coral Frenzy" has been kind enough to provide me with enough samples for the majority of our members to try. You can post your questions/comments about the product after you get your sample in the Coral Frenzy forum here on TRT.
These samples are available to NFMAS...
Did I see someone with a Nilsen reactor for sale last night? I spent most of the time talking to people (which was great), but my brain didn't process "Hey, is that a Nilsen reactor?" until this morning.
I hope everyone enjoyed their candy canes.
Well my tank is a sad looking thing compared to most of your tanks, and definitely not as "mature", but I thought I'd bite the bullet and get some pictures posted while I had a few minutes.
I started out in Jan/06 with a 29g and moved to the 55g late Mar/06 when Reefneck moved from the 55g to...

Just had to take a pic of this guy, about 3.5 years old. Started with three heads, fed twice a week with a mix (prime reef, mysis, krill, cyclop-eeze, oyster eggs, whatever else). I guess it's 8" or so across.
Here is a thread that we have decided to set up to help ID some of the More popular LPS coral. Please include the names of the corals as you post them.
Closed Brain (Maze Brain/Favites)
White Bubble Coral
Elegance Coral (purple tip)
Open Brain Coral (Wellsophyllia)

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to say thanks again for all the patience and positive info i got an my last post.;) As you suggested i thought more about what type of coral i wanted to keep and after some research i found these.
I'll start with the ones i would like to have the most and go down...
a few folks were interested in seeing what all was available. it came in pieces and there is some duplication, so it isn't pretty just cut and pasted, but here ya go. hopefully if we can do this again in the future some more folks will be able to get in on the activity
