OK, I finially got my Pinpoint pH monitor and my pH during the middle of the day is 8.00! :arg: What should I do to raise the pH safely? I use Kent Superbuffer occasionally, should I use more of it? It says it will raise the pH to 8.0-8.3, but I want the pH to be closer to 8.3 don't I? :help:

So I was thinking... The Ksp (kinetic solubility constant)f or calcium hydroxide (kalk). is 5.5x10^-6 at room temperature 22-25C. Which means that a saturated solution contains 0.028 moles/liter. This is converted to 1.122g/l taking the mass of calcium to be 40.078 g/mole. There are 3.785...

I have been strictly dosing kalk only. I've heard that there may possibly be left over hydroxide ions. Are there any buffers and/or additives I can use to help "pair" these off? Also, I was wondering if anyone has used SeaLab No28 (someone suggested it)? Thanks........

is it a waste of time to drip kalkwasser during the day? is it just forming chalk deposits when ph is high around 8.4? I drip now 24/7 but was wondering if it would be wiser to just drip at night. I see a problem with that though. I have a partition in the sump that would make the pump run dry...

I know I'm being cheap, but for those that dose... I recently read that pickling lime and Kalkwasser have the same essential ingredient (calcium hydroxide). Further, that pickling lime can be used in the place of Kalkwasser as a calcium supplement. The main advantage of Kalkwasser is that it...
