So in the moving of my tank Im guessing, my Bristle Star lost one of his Arms. this guy already creeps me out, but now I just watched his detached arm start moving to grab food.
Is this possible???? Please tell me Im seeing things!
I have lots and lots of zoas, host of Frogs pawns and Hammers, Mushrooms, Acans, and much more. This tank has only been setup for about two -three years. I started in a 10 gallon Which you can see on www.marinefiends.com/showcases.html

Ok, i've had an off and on problem with nitrates, the tank came with a fine dust of well, crap I guess, from the former owner feeding only one fish and with the bristle worms i'm thinking of pulling all sand and replacing it or cleaning it if that's possible
I have a 55 gallon, and am worried...
I was looking at my tank today and all of a sudden I saw hundreds of tiny green dots or eggs get released into my display tank. I couldn't believe my eyes, although my fish loved eating most of it I'm not sure where it came from.
Here is a pic of it.

I may be wrong but I tried finding a thread of star fish and could not find it. So let’s see those starfish pics. please write there name and if it reef safe or fish only.
this is my blue linckia and it's reef safe.
I know it seems kind of odd (at least to me) but my serpent star is sharing space with my jawfish. I can see the tentacles coming right out of the little hole the jawfish dug out. When I saw the tentacles and the hole covered up I figured the jawfish became a meal. But the hole was open this...

After reading ksarauer post about having the "bugs" I got worried and inspected my tank and sure enough I've got them. I'm looking for more info on effects of the pests and the reprocusions of treatment on the tank. I have a 150 gallon tank with a 40 breeder sump/refuguim. Lots of different...
I've got a few of these really tiny bristle star looking things. I've taken a pic but the camera isn't with me to download and I need an ID quickly. They just look like a really small black and white bristle star. Ring any bells?
