I have in a new rock what I believe are a few ginormous brittle starfish. They look and act similar to the baby brittles but are much bigger. So far I have only seen legs filter feeding, but how will I know when it becomes a problem? (like BEFORE it eats one of my fish)!

Sorry I don;t have a pic to help but... I just placed some new live rock in my tank and just noticed what can best be described as a "gray caterpillar" about 1/2 inch long crawling around. Does anyone know if this is a bristleworm or possibly some sort of sea cucumber?
Thanks a lot

I'm currently cycling my new tank with some uncured live rock. The cycle is almost complete and I'm trying to decide what cleanup crew is best. I'm planning on a few different species of snails but will they clean the rockwork as well as the glass? I have been siphoning out most of the detritus...
my green brittle star is not hanging around under rocks instead he is hanging on top of rocks and moving around the tank a lot during the day. I did just check my calcium and it was pretty low could this have been the cause of the wierd behavior?
