Hi! I'm interested in adding a starfish to my 28 gal hqi nanocube tank. I've looked a little...and have come up with this (if the link works): http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=497+528+580&pcatid=580 A marble sea star. I was interested in it because of its smaller size...

Does anyone know if any of the lfs in jax have or will have any banded/blackfooted trochus, zebra hermits, electric blue hermits, or super tonga nassarius snails? I may be looking to pick up a few of each on my trip to jax for the meeting.

Since I was a small child, I have always had pets. Whether it was a dog, stray cat, baby squirl, injured bird, lizard, turtle. snake, aquarium, or just about any animal that I could keep. I have also had an aquarium set up constantly since I was 4 years old. Definately not going to share how...

My tank is about to go back up. Hopefully this weekend. I am thinking of what critters I should get. When should I add them? If I see any signs of algae I will be devistated. Snails? Type? How many? Crabs - Maybe some red legs - NO blue legs. Anything else? Tank is a 58G.

I've seen two major schools of thought on cleanup crews, more specifically snail population in people's tanks. Some people have loads of snails (say 1-5 snails per gallon) while others recommend keeping much smaller numbers (say 1 snail per 1-5 gallons. The people who keep high populations seem...

Is it possible to have a mixture of crabs & snails in a reef tank. I already have red legged hermits & was thinking of getting a few snails to clear up algae but I have heard the hermits kill the snails for their shells. Thanks

This is my first reef tank, it is a 100gal tall show tank 48x15x32. I have had it setup and running with 140lbs of live rock and 80lbs of Fiji pink live sand for almost three months before adding fish. I currently have 6 green chromis, a pink square anthias and a royal gramma. The cleaner crew...

What types of snails and cleanup critters (eg, hermits) are best/safest for a live rock, live sand, fish and soft corals (polyps, mushrooms, leathers) tank? There are also some cleaner shrimp in the tank, as well as a mandarin fish. And are there any particular types of snails or critters to...

I have a 90 gallon tank and am picking out my clean up crew now. All of the on line places have packages with about 50 Turbo snails and 50 Blue Leg hermits, and a couple starfish. This seems like a huge amount of these. Do I need this many critters running around to keep the tank clean...
