I'm not sure if this is algea or what but I just wanted to get you opinions and make sure it's not something bad. I have a purple "algea?" That is growing on one of my live rocks. It's dark purple/black looking and feels fuzzy. It grows in kind of a veiny pattern.

My tank finished cycling about a week ago and had a big algea bloom- I don't see it so much o the rocks and sand as I do on the tank glass. I scraped down the sides last night when I did a water change and it's already covered again. Is this a normal outbreak? Most if the pics online show the...

I woke up the other morning to find a good amount of brown and hair algea on the glass of my tank. It's finished cycling a couple weeks ago, is 45 gallon and contains corals/cleanup crew and two fish. Water parameters test perfectly and everything seems in the tank seems happy/healthy. Should I...

Weird day while cleaning out the tank. :D:D:D Besides the hundreds of ticked off Brittle Stars that were giving me the finger (Or tentacle), I found a weird creature (LARGE- 2+ inches) that may be a sea cucumber, a strange white anenome (I think), and noticed a few clumps of a weird algae in...

We have two hermit crab, trochus snail, cerrith snails, and a tuxedo urchin... I don't suppose any of them would eat that, would they!?

So I have long hair algea issue. Levels are fine. I just recently found out my bulbs being older could cause this. That they need to be changed yearly? I've tried the sea hare slug, turbo snails, water changes, cut back on feeding feeding. I was recently looking into why I still have it and...

The reason people buy dry rock is so they don't get the bad things that come along with lice rock, and it is cheaper. Is it still possible that dry rock can leech phosphates. All of my nutrient levels are great and I do a 5-10 gallon water change a week on my 29g, but I am still fighting algae...

So I was reading something and I realized that I might need a new sand bed? I had an green fuzz algea problem so I bought a bunch of astrea and turbo snails which took care of it. But my phosphates are reading 5.0 needing a water change, then two days after wc, 2.0. So i was told this algea...
