40 gallon tank

Hello I'm new here and very new to saltwater. All that I currently have is my 40 gallon tank. It was on sale so I couldn't resist snatching it up. I still have to get all the rest of the proper equipment and a stand before I even start to set it up but I just want to be prepared for everything...

i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what fish are good for a 40 gallon tank. I'd like to eventually turn it into a reef tank so i'd like to get reef safe fish. thanks :)
