I used the pump as a submersible return pump. All you have to do is drop it in and plug it in.

| Performance vs. Expectations: |
With a name like "Quiet One" you would expect that you couldn't hear the pump run at all. However, that is not the case. I could hear the pump running on the other side of the house it was that loud. It is a strong running pump though. It is all I needed for flow in my 90 gallon SPS tank.

For what the pump is worth (~$100) I think that you get a great amount of flow for the buck.

-The amount of water that it pushes
-The versatility of the uses for the pump. You can run it external or submersible. It also comes with adapters that allows you to connect 3/4" inside diameter hose. It is a great pump for the price

The only negative thing that I have to say is that it is pretty loud. It clicks pretty loud over and over and over. If it wasn't for the pump being loud, I would have the best pump ever!
