Well it looks as though my well traveled behind will be making yet another journey, this time to Greenville SC. At least I was smart enough to only have my modified eclipse 6 set up while I was here in St Petersburg so I won't have trouble with a move(done that WAY too many times!!!) ANYWAY.....I will be in Greenville for at least a couple years so it's time to get busy putting the final touches on my plans for a new reef.......Anyone here know of a good LFS(oxymoron) in Greenville??? I hope I don't have to travel half way across the state just for a bag of IO but we'll see. Any info on trading or a reef club would also be great.........see ya in SC!!!!!

SaltCreep, Glad to hear that you're moving to Greenville (Heh heh heh, SC in SC...), too bad for you... (heh heh heh) The shops you'll be interested in are both within 1/2 mile of each other on Woodruff Rd, one is Petland, the other is World of Pets. Petland is a more ethical shop, but the selection is occasionally slim, and the LR is mediocre at best, although the guys in the shop are very personable and try to help you when they can ( I have done a newbie seminar there). The other shop has a large shark tank (pool really) with a few hammerheads and a black tipped reef shark, some rays, etc. They have the best selection, but for the most part don't seem to have the operations end down or what is REALLY going on in the reef tanks. The guys there are run of the mill LFS in-it-for-the-money types, although they are genuine in trying to help the newbies (but they are sold on bioballs... one of the guys there told me that it was a waste of time to do dsb's for corals, they all die anyway, and he would rather see a big "hard" cycle to make sure that the tank was doing what it was supposed to do...) this from the same shop that has the worst case of gold planaria in the sw system that I have ever seen. They do, however, have a more varied selection, but I would advise against purchacing your corals there. These places are about 20 miles from my house, there is nothing in Spartanburg, and although other shops have sw in Greenville, forget finding anything of value there. Best place within reason is Fintastic in Charlotte NC (about an hour away North on I-85) or break down and travel to Knoxville to Tullock's old place (Dick, what is the name of the shop, Premium Aquatics?) about 3 hrs away in Tennessee, or take in the shops in Atlanta, I have about 3 places I like to go in Atlanta, or check out Phishmon and Snailman in Greensboro (Marine Ecosystems) NC. There is a fledgeling Trading ring developing in NC, and I believe there is a marine society starting up in Charlotte, some discussion has been batted around about starting one here in the upstate...

Give me a call when you get settled in, I am in the phone book in Wellford, close to the BMW plant, I'll show you where they have the best margaritas and Mexicans making mexican food!!!

Hope this helps
