Hello Everybody! I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of you a very safe and enjoyable weekend.
I hope to hear some of you will be adding a new addition to your tank in browsing your LFS.
As for me, I had a minor set back with my leg. I went back to work on Aug 15th and this past Wednesday was in the ER room because of leakage from my knee down to my ankle. It looked like beads of sweat and it went through 3 layers of wrapping and my work pants. I was really concerned.
My regular diabetes doc told me I will be off work again for at least another 10 days and maybe longer.
I did receive some news yesterday. I got an e-mail from my co-ordinator whom heads up the surgery department that I have to have my 3 doctors and my co-ordinator fax reports over on my history of diabetes and weight problems so it looks like there is a chance I will receive the authorization for the gastric bypass surgery. If I have the surgery the diabetes will disappear in about 3 days and will never come back.
If all goes well I will have the surgery in late September or October. I am keeping a positive attitude and along with my reef tank and you guys and my lovely wife I will win this battle for good.
Once again, I would like to wish you all a very pleasant holiday and keep on reefing!! Johnny

He Johnny. I am sorry to hear of your setback, and I hope you are approved to have the surgery performed.

I don't have any travel plans, or plans to add any new life to my tank, but I do have lots of reef related plans for the weekend. I spent $700 this week at Marine Depot for a dual 250 watt MH retrofit kit, a CPR overflow, and a bunch of pumps and other stuff. I will be installing my new lights and setting up a sump this weekend. I also will be starting fresh cultures in my phytoplankton culturing system so that I can dispose of the contaminated ones that I have going now. It is going to be a blast.

Have a great and safe weekend everyone.

Andrew

Hi Johnny, Sorry to hear of yet another complication. I am sure things will soon get much better for you and Pat. Just keep having the same attitude and you will get through it.

As for me, I was out with my friends last night, and am going to be pretty busy this weekend. I've got a lot of homework to do, it's going to take me hours to do it all
I am also going to go visit my grandpa in the hospital. Then it's on to doing some much needed reef-related work. I fell behind on the little jobs in the last few days, and now I need to catch up. And finally I need to finish up my TRT article
Yes that's right, I am probably holding up the show.
I will finish it soon. Sorry everyone. And of course, I need to find some time to do things with my friends some time this weekend too
