Well, you know when things are going too well, and you say something stupid like," MAN the tanks look REALLY GOOD," and there are no probs, etc, ...well.... now there is a plague of these little flatworms from this last batch of rock from the SP, got some mushrooms and.... well, there is a lot of blue tonga in my tank, and also a ton of little tan flatworms with the red spot. They have not started climbing up the glass yet, but they definitely have a section of the substrate pretty well covered. I may as well let you folks know that there aren't any of the C. varians at Inland Aquatics, unless Morgan is not listing them with the price list. Neither is anyone else, evidently, so I may be making some phone calls to see who DOES have them. I will be introducing a 6 line or ordering one of the other wrasses above, and will let you know how they do. Fortunately, the prop system has a reverse photoperiod refugeum, so the pod issue may not be a problem, but it will be a problem it the worms are there also...
I will keep everyone posted on the progress of using natural predator control to eliminate these little pests. I agree that, although they are not harmful to most corals (there are a few problems ones for sarcophyton/lobophyton spp.), I want them out of my prop system.
