Hi guys, lighting questions, do they ever stop....
I was recommended for a 75g soft coral tank to go with an Icecap 660 ballast and 4x110 VHO bulbs, probably 2x 50/50's and 2x actinics. After reading alot of opinions favouring the 660 this seemes like the way I want to go. However, I am unclear as to what I need to purchase to connect the ballast to the bulbs? What additional components are required and how do you sequence them?
Also today I found a 90 gall tank with a similar footprint to the 75 gall, and was wondering if 4x110's would still suffice, or if i need to add extra lighting?
Thanks in advance, Dave

When I bought my 660, it came with ballast and wiring harness. If it does not come with end caps, you will need to get some, and of course you will need the lights!! Then just wire the harness into the endcaps, there is a diagram on the ballast, fire it up to see if it is wired right and that is about it. You will likely have to buy a three prong plug and wire it into the harness as well, not hard just match the colors( their are only three)
The harness plugs right into the ballast so the most time consuming part is plugging the wires into the endcaps.

Jason at PA has a deal that includes everything:

IceCap Retro Kit Contains:
ICE660BLST - IceCap 660 Ballast w/harness
END-CAPUL - VHO rated waterproof end caps
MOUNTS - End cap mounts (bulb rack available)
PLUG - Grounded power cord
Choice of URI VHO bulbs w/internal reflectors.
46BVHO - 110 watt Super Actinic Blue
46WVHO - 110 watt Actinic White 50/50
46SVHO - 110 watt AquaSun Daylight

All you need to do is wiring up the end caps and connect the plug. Then mount and install your bulbs and you are ready. If you prefer, our lighting specialist will pre-wire your plug and end caps for an additional $20.00. This service on average takes approx. 2 days.

Just measure the inside of your hood so you know if you have room for the 46" or 48" bulbs. (the endcaps do take up a little room)

A 90g is deeper and this may not be enough light for anything except softies.
