    Hey Chad,

I was just reading through your build thread and looking at your photos. I don't know if you remember me, but you were the first person to comment on my first thread on here about my 10 gallon. Well, lo and behold, I have a 190G that I'm setting up this weekend. I searched the forums for AI Sol and your thread came up because you used AI LEDs. I saw that you are using three decks. My tank is the same as yours just 1ft shorter in length. Anyway, I grabbed some really great info off your thread and wanted to thank you personally for being an excellent source of information. I will be purchasing 3 decks of the AI Sol LEDs very soon. I love the way your tank looks. I may be asking you a couple of questions regarding livestock (fish, inverts, corals, etc...).

Yes, I totally agree with you. I put that to gether in about 20 minutes as a rought example of what I could get up and running. I wanted to see if there was any outside intrest in anyone helping with a project like this.

Awesome to know your an Interweb Geek too!

So I have to ask do you think people would contribute to a tool like this. Or am i on my own to input about 1000 different corals and all of their variants. Would you like to do the front end design? I do all the magic stuff these days and my CSS guys get all the credit. Clients never seem to appriciate that their applications actually FUNCTION it's more "ooooooh that's a pretty orange!" - lol

To be honest with you I really wanted to make it so you step through several pages of question with diagrams explaining each step before you get to the possible results.

Anyway thanks for taking a look at it, maybe I can get Geoff to look at it soon.

    Hey bud,

I'm building an online coral identification application. I don't know if you saw my post in the soft thread, but I'm looking for people who might be interested in helping me get corals into a database.

I've got a prototype of the search at least built which allows people to identify certain things about the coral and then click search. So like if you choose "stubby branches" and "green" color it'll return back 5 google images that meet the scientific name for probable corals. If no scientific name is found it the dB it'll default to common names.

I've been programming it since I got off work today and I've got 3 corals in there right now, well 2 and a generalized entry into the system for Genius Sarcophyton

Take a look at it, tell me what you think and if you or if you know someone else who can correctly identify corals who would like to help with this project please have them PM me.

I also PM'd Geoff asking him if something like this could be implemented into TRT site. It would make what probably would be the MOST USED tool online for reefers. We've got enough people here that we could put in a LOT of data into this thing in very little time.

Let me know what you think.

Oh wow, I hadn't noticed that till you pointed that out!
My friend bought it; his LFS told him that it was a Rock Flower anemone, but he was thinking it more to be a LTA, like you thought...

What about their sizes? I read that BTA's can get up to 1ft in diameter. That would be 1/3 of my tank's space.
How big do Sebae nems get?

Hmmm that's interesting. If that's all you feed your anemones, then like you said, there must be something else that is killing other people's nems.

I've thought this too, but since you have much more experience with these inverts, I'd thought I drop by and ask. Oh by the way, the reason I asked was because I asked someone else what he/she fed his/her nem.

Lastly, I have one more question for you. Is a BTA a good nem to start out with?

Hey Chad, I've been reading on here some threads that claim feeding silversides to nems is bad. Isn't that the only thing you feed your Sebae???
Why do people say that silversides are bad?

Yep 60g. The tank is wide, and there's space behind, in front, and above the rockwork. The only tang people have recommended to me was the kole, just as you suggested.
I asked because I went to Petco the other day, and I asked the fish guy, who really knows his stuff, and he said that a yellow tang would be fine because they don't grow that big in captivity.

I think I will go with the kole tang if I do get a tang down the line.

Looks like you need to add a couple sharks in there! They might help with the bio load by add to the nutrients! What kind of fish do you have in there?
