"Cool Guy" Luminarc III reflector order thread
Here's the master list...
Me-2
Redwinger-2 (paid)
JnS-1
Hink-2
Spazz-3
Mike-2?
I'm going to order 2 of these reflectors. If anyone wants in on a "powerbuy," I'll see if we can get any sort of discount. Also, the only way I'll order them for you if you really want them is if you paypal me the money ahead of time. I'd like to order by Tuesday or Wednesday.
Here's a linky to the "cool guy" reflector:

Reason: Casey and John got too chatty in the middle of the thread after the list went up. :)

Is it just a fan assembly added to the reflector? Do you think it really cools things more?

I am pretty sure Casey said to make sure you got the ac kit with it as it would be a pain to mount a socket in it. maybe Casey will chime in soon

So I got a reply from Luke @ PGS about a group buy...and here it is...
Quote:
"As for group buys, we definately support this. The L3 or LA3 cost
$129.95ea. retail. The price breaks are at 10+ units for $110ea. and 20+
units for $105ea."
|
Do you think there's any chance we can get to 10?!? Hopefully. If not, I'll just order in the next few days...

count me in for 2. im not sure what the a/c kit is but i do not think casey has it. i think he just made sure he had there mogul in it as to mount your own would be a pain. im sure he will be up and at em in a couple hours to give us the details.

The AC kit is a new design. Basically it is a vented reflector that you can add like dryer hose to. This way you can vent heat right out of the relector away from the tank. With that said these were not available when I ordered mine and I just have the standard ones.
Also what I had said before was to get their moguls as that they would be very difficult to retro any other mogul into these relectors. I think when I bought mine they were sold seperately. Now it kinda looks like a package deal and about the same prices.

Derek let me know before you order also I might get 2-3. Also you going to be around tonight? I want to stop by with the "cool guy" car that just got in unless I sell it beforehand. You won't believe the power in this vehicle.

John, I'll give you a call when I'm heading home.
It looks like the ac kit may be needed if you have heat issues, and that you will need to run the reflectors with the glass shield in place to have them be worthwhile...

Derek, if we can get to 10, I'll take two. Not sure if they will fit, but if I can save a few bucks I'll force it.

Yes spazz just cool enough for you especially since you could use the extra help keeping things cool...
Derek I dont personally like the idea of the glass it cuts way down on the light that gets to the tank. Dont quote me here but I think 1/8" is 10%-20%. I think if you had the AC package and hooked it up to a small bathroom fan venting outside would work good. JMO
