He's adorable! I have a tiny, little, yellow gobie. But its not a Watchman. Dont know what kind I have, though. Are you going to get a pistol shrimp to go with him?

Alls I know is I have a video tape of a Nano I had 10 years ago w/ one of those little yellow guys in it. The video is the yellow goby eating away at one of my most prized Star Corals. At that time in the industry these types of corals were allmost immpossible to come by and I just happen to luck in on it.
After watching the video I had him walk the plank into the swirling water of our favorite white bowl.
I'll never own one of thoses guys again.

Nope --- long before SpongeBob was even a twinkle in some cable exec's eye.
I used to run a tight ship --- everyone walked the plank if they didn't stay in line.
He did fine in my tank for a long time --- then one day he decided he liked live corals better than frozen food.

The only prob I have with my Yellow Watchman is that he likes to dig...a lot! He and his Pistol Shrimp partner in crime have managed to redecorate my tank and add nice rolling hills to my once flat/smooth sandbed! Causes a bit of extra work with having to "dust" off the LR and neighboring corals, but he's pretty cool to watch when he starts one of his digging sessions.

If you get a pistol shrimp (my yellow watchman goby mated up with a Michaels Pistol Shrimp), be sure to add extra little pieces of rock and larger pieces of crushed coral, even snail shells. The pistol shrimp will dig tunnels and use the little pieces of whatever to build up his tunnels.

I have two yellow watchmans that hang out together. I'm not sure if their mated! Does this mean that a pistol shrimp is out of the question or not?

I have seen two same gobies accept one shrimp. As far as how often this happens, I don't know.
Sorry.....

Tiger Pistols are pretty cool. They tend to have nice reds and oranges in their coloration.

I get nervous buying shrimp with big claws like that... I worry they could eat my mushroom corals or other corals, but I guess these ones don't.. I have a yellow watchman and am interested in getting a tiger pistol shrimp for it...
It should have no problem getting along with my cleaner shrimp should it?
