Xenia Question?

Okay all,
hopefully someone could help me out here. My husband has some Xenia that I "thought" was splitting, but now I'm thinking twice. I have a very crappy picture that I will post. What its supposed to show you is a stalk of Xenia splitting in half and some yellow stuff coming from the middle of it. The Xenia has shrivled up for the most part and will open up still, just not pulse. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

It's really hard to tell anything from that pic.

The Xenia looks like an encrusting variety not a stalk variety.
If it's only one section that seems to be having a problem then I would take a razor blade and scrape off that section (wouldn't want anything funky spreading over to other parts).
Current can effect weather Xenia pulses or not (among other things). Try moving it around in the tank and see what happens.

Please note these observations are made from that pic and I could be totally wrong.
