What Size Should I Set Up

I want to set up a new Nano Reef tank. 15 years ago I had a 75 gal salt water set up and while very pretty to watch it involved a lot of work to maintain. My son now has set up a 5 gal Nano Reef at the office and a 12 gal at home. This seems to be a lot less work than I remember while keeping my 75 gal from years ago. Just want to know a good size so after a few months wish I had either a bigger or smaller one. What would be a nice size to offer enough to have a variety of things to keep it interesting and not be to difficult to keep up? The best way to find this out is from people like you that have already accomplished this and not from a place trying to sell me the tank. Thanks for what ever experience you can share with me.

Welcome to TRT! I find my 24g nano cube is the easiest tank I have it's big enough to get some nice softies and LPS but not overwhelming for water changes and maintenace like my 95. I also have a 5.5g but it is very limiting fish wise and a little harder to keep stable

Welcome to TRT!
I agree with Kelli... a 24 would be nice. I have a 12, which is what I started with, and a 30, which is now my second tank.

I think the easiest system to maintain is the largest system you can afford to set up right. The smaller the system is the more fragile the balance is. A 100 gallon tank will be much easier to care for than a 24 gallon tank if it is properly equiped. Alot of the difficulkty has to do with the way you have it set up. Auto top off, semi-auto water changes, CLSs, the right skimmer, preparing the tank before stocking, calcium reactor, electronic monitors, ETC... all these things can make a system much easier to care for and maintain properly.

Yep bigger is better but if looking at a budget the 24 pod is great!

my 24 is very easy to take care of, just change about 5 gallons of water a month is all I do, everything seems to do fine
