What did I do???
I had a yellowtail damsel that looked to have ick. It was showing all the signs of it. I started to treat it yesterday with Rid Ich+. Everything was looking better today when the damsel bit the dust this evening after treatment 2. Now my cleaner shrimp and starfish look to be heading the same way. The crabs, snails and the false perc seem to be doing ok.
I was also reading the fine print, and it says it could be harmful to live rock too.
What did I do?
Help!!

since no one else is answering, I'll throw in my .2
Whenever our fish guy treats the fish only tank for ich, he has to remove the hermits or any other crustraceans that are in there. It became such an inconvenience that we ended up getting rid of the hermits altogether.
You might want to get a bucket and store them in there for a while.

does it have copper in it? Copper basically will make your tank inhospitable to any inverts/crustaceans....so you may have just made your reef a fish only.

No copper known, but has 4.26% formaldhyde and zinc-free chloride salt of malachite green, whatever that is.

Never Mind, malachite green isn't copper. It's chlorine, nitrogen, carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen.

HOB with carbon will help...that's what I use when I need carbon or want to run carbon occasionally.

Well, I officially have a crab tank. No fish left.
BTW, I did a 20% water change just a few days ago when this started.
What do I have to do to clean my tank up?

Im close to throwing in the towel with this SW tank. I would like to make one more big effort to get it right again.
Thanks for any input you guys can give me.

I replaced the HOB filter which has carbon in it, and also added a stocking full of carbon to the free space remaining in the filter. There should be plenty of carbon for the water to flow through.
How will I know when my tank is rid if ick? I was thinking of waiting a week before adding any fish, but from my posts above, im leary.
Thanks again for any input.
