OK GUYS,

I listened and heard the word, but:

I've done everything wright after talking to everyone. I got my new 24 gallon Aqua Deluxe up and runnigg this morning. I moved all my live rock, sand, water out of my 55 gallon reef yesterday. All water test were very good.
Today I put in my six line wrasse, chaulk, strawberry pseudochrmis, fire goby, lawnmawer blenny, crabs & snails. Tonight all were dead. It appears the fire goby jumped into the filter and plugged it. The temperature was 82 degrees. I know I forgot to put a strainer on the pump. Any thoughts.
The sand wash it, but I didn't dry the sand. What do you think I should do now. I hate to tear it all down now. The only fish I still have in the 55 gallon are 2 Blue Damsels, 2 Clowns and 2 large Coral Banded Shrimp. I heard that the Shrimps could start eating other fish as they mature?
This is getting costly

WOW sorry to hear about the losses I'm not familar with the filtration on the Aquapod. What are the current water parameters? Possibly moving the sand was an issue

I upgraded a 12 gallon to the 24 aquapod no problem. I did use a new bag of sand tho because everyone said moving the sand could cause problems. I am very sorry to hear about the losses. Have you checked the params since the deaths? I really wonder if moving the sand caused some sort of spike. You may want to check the 55 as well. Stirring up the sand to move it could have released toxins in it as well but would be slower to cause a response because of size and maturity of that tank.

bummer man. that is a few too many fish in such a small tank though. I agree with the sand idea, did you notice any black regions when moving it?

Black is anoxic regions that are full of sulpher from decomposition. do not uncover these spots and dont move them if you find one. they are big time poison. better to just scoop it up and toss it. if you added some to your tank you should add some iron suppliment to bind the sulphur.
