You are over your addiction when you get rid of all your tanks.

Until then you maybe in remiss or your addiction could be turning a new direction (evident by trying out the powerquad on the 20). And with that test the seed is planted. Soon to blossom a true Nano Reefer.

But it's all good --- just think of us as your friendly neiborhood support group.

my addiction led me from a 2.5g to a 55g(with 4 96watters)...yes, that's fifty five gallons, not five point five. i'm gonna miss the 2.5, but it's such a pain in the butt to work with since there is no space for anything. (and now i can have fish!) anywho, definately stay with that powerquad if your corals are goin nuts. sounds great to me

Hi I am ray, and I am a reef, planted tank, vivarium aholic.

Actually, I am looking at a powerquad to put over a 10 gal. I am having too many heat issues with the 3 gal. (Unless the thermometer is just broke). I couldn't get it to cool, until I removed most of the live rock. Now I have two powerheads and 2 pounds of live rock rubble in a 3 ga nano with 13 watts of 50/50 pc. Maybe a small shroom tank and use the rest of the rock in a 10 gal nano.

Ray

Rainbow Lifegaurd "little Time and Temp" or big one for that matter is the only way to go.

If you have one and the battery is good then the temp is correct you just are having other problems.

Problem might have been 2 powerheads in 2 - 2 1/2 gal of water (3 gal minus 1/2 - 1 gal for LR and sand). Submersible pumps add heat which is why I would rather go HOB. Adds a little more water to make up for some of the LR displacment and the pump isn't fully submersed so it doesn't add as much heat.

Also a proper canopy w/ proper ventilation/fan will go a long way in maintaining temp especially in a small tank.
