Welcome to TRT!!!

If you added sand to the bottom of the tank and then added water to it you are probably having a sand storm. It will take a little while for the sand to become heavy enough to sink to the bottom. If you have a powerhead in the tank that could keep stirring up the sand as well. If you do not have a powerhead in the tank, then it should begin to settle down a little more each day.

Did you use live sand? I just started my 14g Biocube with good live sand and it cleared within a day. I am guessing its the type of sand that helped.
