SPS in nano?

In my last tank a few years ago (a 15 gallon), I successfully kept a few good SPS corals and a maxima clam...has anyone else had good success with these types of animals? I just want to be sure, trying out my 15 gallon again, that I am again successful. Was I crazy for trying SPS, and was my success a mere fluke? Or have a lot of other people had success with small tanks? Anyway...I was just wondering. Also, what kind of fish load do you guys reccommend...I have about 16 pounds of fiji and pompeii live rock, a CPR 12" HOB refugium, a CPR bak-pak skimmer, and about 2" of 1-2mm aragonite sand. I'm running 110 watts of PC lighting, and the tank is shallow, so any thoughts on additional corals or livestock would be great...I've only got two small perc clowns and a six line wrasse in there right now.

Two clowns and a six line is definatly more than enough fish is a 15 --- I prefer none but that is just me.

As for SPS --- my Minibow 7 is a very mixed tank at the moment. It contains approx

14 different types of sps
5 different types of LPS corals and
16 different types of softies/zoo's/shrooms/polyps

It's a little crammed for space at the moment but I think I figured out where/how I could add 3 or 4 more frags/corals and I can always squeeze in some more zoo's if the color is right.

2 x 28watts 50/50 from hellolights.

The biggest issue will be keeping the color of sps corals. Most regular acros don't work really well. Even if they live they will probably end up brown unless under halides.

Dang Charles...I think you are missing 3 corals though. I remember we counted 38 at the November Reef Club meeting. Anyways, I had an orange montipora frag (from rick) that lost all color and bleached out in the 10 gal nano. I had a 55 watt pc, but the frag was mounted at the top of the tank. The softies and the capricornious on top are doing well. I got permission from "She who must be obeyed" to get me a 96 watt quad bulb. Howerver I think the orange is too bleached to save.

Ray my total count is up around 42 or 44 but the different species count is at 35 --- I have some duplicates. I don't think anything has died since we did the count in Nov. but sometimes with this many they get sort of hard to keep track of. I usually just go for a count at the time of posting. let me go and see ----- BRB

Ok todays count is 35 different ones and 41 total frags/corals plus an assortment of inverts ---- no fish or shrimp or crabs.

I have both an orange digita and an orange capricornis that are both kickin rweally well and both have kept their nice orange color. I wonder if it was something other than the lighting that made yours loose it's color. I also have a green digita that seems to be reaining green but only time will tell since I aquaried this one at the Dec. meeting.

Yea the 96 watt PQ should work great on a 10 gallon you will just have to pick and choose the sps carefully.
