Lighting on my nano
My tank is about 5 gallons (a little less), I have about 4 pounds of rock from an established reef, a couple types of green macro-algae, flower anemone, a big blue mushroom, some blue leg hermits, a large brittle star and a small snowflake eel. I have a 9w actinic powercompact and a 15w strip flourescent w a 50/50 bulb. I have Essential Elements, Coral Vital, Reef Iodide, and liquid calcium. I am sparing with all of these and am introducing them slowly, but I am just lost on why my xenia are not opening up. I have been testing and the levels are all low, I don't know what to do. How do I get these softies to open up?

Well, I'm relatively new at this (8 months), so here go's nothing:
Tank: 12 gal JBJ (I through away the old hood after it tryed, unsuccessfully, ti burn my house down...)
Lighting: Coralife 96W Quad (50/50)
16# of live rock
Inhabitabts: 1 - Royal Gramma; 1 - Peppermint Shrimp; 1 - Rainford's Goby; 4 blue leg hermits; 2 - Red leg hermits; 4 - turbo snails; MANY, MANY misc hitchhikers...
I just got the 2 fish 2 weeks ago and they appear to have acclimated very well.
BTW: What kinds of corals could/should I keep in here?
Roger

lots of corals, especially with the 96 watt Powerquad! Put some GSP, xenia, leathers, some montiporas, some zoos, maybe some LPS, like bubble, frogspawn, or candy cane. Some open brains on the sand...FILL IT UP BABY! ! !
