Yes but do it this way though.....
Put saltwater into the tank with the sand, get it heated to the same temp as your 125 and make sure the other parameters are fairly similar but in particular, specific gravity and temperature. After those two are fairly similar, you can quickly move some rock from one tank to the other.

That was the plan. I do however have to tear it down before that. The wife decided she wanted to move the entertainment center 12" to the right and put the tank on the left side of it. So the tank is going to move about 3' from it's present location. At least it is the nano and not the 125.

OK I went back and found the quotes, just so I got this right.

I plan on stocking it with as many tangs as will possibly fit and still be able to move, even if just barely.

I removed all the media from my pods, added purigen, bag of carbon, and one sponge behind the intake. I switch the sponge everyweek during my water change. I like using the sponge cause it catches alot of the big stuff and keeps my water clear and test numbers are alway 0.

Good idea on the sponge. I couldn't believe there were 3 sponges in the first chamber. I knew I would never be able to get all of them out once water was in there.

Yeah they loaded it will sponges didn't they. Makes changing them out easier tho cause you don't have to rinse the one your using during the water change. I siphon the water out and before putting the new water in I remove the old sponge and replace then add the new water. If you pull the sponge while the tank is full you will get alot of debri from the sponge in the tank which defeats the purpose of using them.

So here is the plan as of this very minute:
No Skimmer
SSB
Media on an as needed basis
Heater in compartment 2
One of three sponges in compartment 1 (rotate out when cleaning)
Suggestions for cleaning crew for a nano is next.
What type of snails?
Crabs? No real plan for coral other that some ricordia and my RBTA.
Shrimp? I have two small anemone shrimp in the 125. One or both may better suited to the nano.

I was going for 1 fish per gal and leaving you some wiggle room if 1 got out of line

I love my blue leg hermits, they don't get to big and havn't hurt anything. I really like the fireshrimp. Maybe some small snails. I don't know what they are but they are the size of a dime.

Eric I have 2 sponges in the first compartment of the 24g I rinse them every water change I found I had a micro bubble problem with out them.
I've not found I needed a heater so I don't have anything in the 2nd chamber except a bag of carbon rinsed 1 water change and replaced the next

Thanks Kelli! I'll keep that in mind on th sponges. The water flow is so little I think I may need to add a powerhead. I'm hoping I don't need the heater as well.
