Re-did the whole thing

Well, since Spot (the lawnmower blenny died) I decided to re-do the entire tank. (nine gallon nano)

It was just a wild hair that I got last night, mind you it was at 10pm and you know how we all get once we get started. giggle

I took all the lr and corals out, took out more of the cc (which I HATE) and a piece of lr permanetly, put the rest of the lr and the corals back into the tank, did a water change, and now I can't wait to see what all the parameters are. I only have about 5-6 cups of the cc substrate on the bed of the tank now.

I'm gonna have to wait to check the parameters till this afternoon; after the lights have been on for awhile. It's driving me crazy to just sit here and wait!

Wish me luck! I hope that my nitrates are perfect! It's the only parameter that I've had problems with. Please be at a great level!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I actually don't have pics from last month or the month before. I haven't had my computer; currently using a friends and it doesn't have enough space/etc. for any software programs on it. (I'm not complaining - at least I can use the internet.)
I'm gonna borrow my friend's camera tonight and get some pics of it on Tuesday. I'll post them as soon as I can.
Everything in the tank looks all happy right now. I'm just having a problem with the new heater that I bought. It's a 100 watt and I can't get the temp down on it. Nothing in the tank is melting but, it makes me neverous to be up in the high 70s to the 80 mark and sometimes a bit higher.

get a 50 watt heater....i forgot the size of your tank, 9 gallons?
if so a 50 is better since just in case it gets stuck in the On position (alot of heaters malfunction this way) a lower watt heater will take longer to cook your tank so you can prob save things in time.
i hate heaters, i keep my thermostat on 75 this way i dont have to use them lol
sure my house is a sweat box and my skin is dried out from all this dry air but the tanks are at a constant unheated temp

I'm disappointed! But... this is better than it has been lately:

nitrate = 40 (it has been all the way up to 80)
nitrite = between 0 & .5
alk = 180
ph = between 7.8 & 8.4
salinity = 1.023
temp = 74

I'm still working on it. Not giving up yet! Everything in the tank is looking really good right now. So... everything should be even better once I get these parameters where they should be.

yikes! the nitrates what wrong?!! you did a total change and its still high?
buy another nitrate test kit maybe its off and giving you a false high.
you dont use tap water right or well water? i forget sometimes with the other posts.
specific gravity to me is a lil low, i keep mine at 1.025
natural sea water is 1.026
hang in there petunia, it will balance out
p.s my blenny is looking thin
