Quick Question.. Help Please

Just finished my aquascape in my established 20gal tank... however my water is still very cloudy and dirty (even after two water changes this week).

My problem is that my clown fish is in a small bucket curretly without heater or circulation. How long can I keep him in there before harming him? Also, will the dirty/cloudy water hurt him?

Please help

Is your filtration back on?? clown will not stay long in bucket. The clown would prob be more safe in the tank since both are cloudy and dirty...

Have you had your water tested? I would do that, but I also would not leave my clownfish in a bucket, cloudy water wins in my book!

Luvmylo beat me to that question,,, Is your rock new, cured, cooked????Would like a pic to support, but the clown would be better off in the tank than in the bucket w/o heat or flow...How often are you doing water changes since you have said youve done 2?? how long has he been in the bucket already??? need more info

Perimeters are good... it was the fact of stirring up the sand and adding some extra as well. Rock is stable... my tank has been up and running for 6 months. I just decided to make some change to my aquascape and now I have a mess.

The clown has been put back into the tank. Still keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks for the quick responses

Clown is a damsel. It's tuff. It's better in the tank then bucket but it would of been better if you didn't get e fish till it's cycled.

The tank has fully cycled... it has been running very weel for months.

Due to some recent changes that i have made some housekeping issues has caused it to become cloudy and very dirty looking. Essentially when i moved the sand and rocks debris from the past 6 months under the rocks surfaced causing me issues.

As ofthe this morningthe tank is cler and back to normal operating conditions. Still not happy with the aquascape but it will do for now. I have an order coming in through the LFS. I will make a few adjustments in a week or so.

Thanks again

p.s.... clowns are really from the damsel family??

Yes clownfish are in the anemone fish family that includes damsel fish. There are some damsels that will host in anemones.

You may be having more of a filtration problem.

What type of filter is on this 20Gal??

do you have a nano skimmer??

HTH
