Powerhead Question - 20g

I have 2 Hagen Aquaclear 201 powerheads in my tank right now. The problem is, they don't have any of the suction attachments or flow guides. So, I have to prop them on the liverock. Obviously, this is 1) ghetto, 2) not really good for perfecting my flow. There's a couple dead spots that could develop into problems in the future.

So, what's a good powehead for a 20g? How many do you have set up in your tank? I'm looking for one with an adjustable flow direction, suction mounted, adjustable output....

I have hagens in my 20, 4x301's, but without suction cups, I woudnt know what to do. Did you buy them and not get any of the stuff, if so I'd take them back and get some complete boxes.

They came with an old tank. What type of attachements do you have? Suction cups or the brackets that hang on the side of the tank? Do you have those adjustable flow direction arms?

Im using suction cups, I dont have have the direction things on 3 of them, I have 2 on either ends of the tank sideways so I can adjust them by rotatating the output. One is in the back corner with a flow guide; and the 4th is behind the lr to keep everything in the front of the tank. All of them are on the highest flow possible.

with 4 301's in a 20g at the highest output, that must swirl things around pretty good! No one in there seems to complain huh?

Hey, btw... what do you think of this light set-up.

think this would be a better option?

Amazingly, everything is fine with the current, I do get a few sand dunes tho.

Matters what you want on the lighting. Relatively decent prices on both, 20KK on the MH will be really blue, but you can always swap it at the lfs.

I've been using Rio powerheads for a long time now. They're not that expensive and they last forever. They come with suction cups, and numerous attachments for adjusting force and direction of flow. I have two small ones in my 20 gal (I think they're Rio 50's). I've also used them in vivariums that house turtles and frogs and they are incredibly durable.

I went to petsmart and grabbed 4 new powerheads last night. Here's a tip for the wise. Petsmart will honor their website price right in the store! It was a huge difference as the 301's were $36 in store and $14.99 on the web. Score!

I ended up getting two 301's and 2 201's. Hopefully that'll stir things up really nice. I'm hoping a lot of the crud resting on the rocks is then filtered out by the skimmer. I am continually turkey basting a ton of detritus off the rocks, only to have it settle back down.
