power filter help

does anyone know anything about the penn plax cascade power filters? i'm thinking about getting one for my 2.5. also with that will i need a powerhead still

I don't know anything specific about that exact filter so I can't help you with that.

But in a 2.5 a decent rated HOB should be all thats needed as far as circulation is concerned. In my Minibow 7 I have a AquaClear 200 as the only form of circulation. I do want to upgrade it to a 300 but I don't plan on using a power head.
